KEMIT-AMON LEWIS DISCUSSES HIS ROLE IN OUR NEW FILM 'ADAM HILLS: FOOT FAULT' WITH NOAH.

Back to Listing

We sat down with Kemit-Amon Lewis, a distinguished para-standing tennis player whose remarkable journey in sports has made him a role model for many. Known for his athleticism and power on the court, Kemit has overcome significant obstacles. He suffered a rare bacterial infection that led to septic shock, organ failure, and eventually, the amputation of his right hand, right leg, left fingers and left toes…but that didn’t stop him from playing at Wimbledon.

What is the documentary about?
The documentary introduces Para Standing Tennis to the WORLD...told through the eyes of a good friend, Adam.

What has been the best part of being in the documentary?
I’ve always travelled a bit and have always done so with my tennis racquets. So, I’d have to say the people are who made being a part of the documentary special. Adam, Alex, Thalita, Luke, etc. And Emma and the crew are all amazing human beings.

What have you learnt from being in the documentary?
I’ve learned a lot about what we all are doing to raise awareness about Para Standing Tennis. There are many players focused only on winning matches. Many others are competitive on the court but are excellent ambassadors of Para Standing Tennis - always plotting ways to increase the visibility of the sport and access to all who want to play.

What was the best place you visited during filming and why?
Playing at Wimbledon was a dream come true. But again, the hosts made us feel at home and very welcomed. I saw the great Roger Federer, my idol, play at Wimbledon in 2018 and thought I couldn’t get a better Wimbledon experience but that changed when I stepped on their court with Adam, Alex, and Thalita.

Why should people watch this documentary?

Because humanity! The documentary, if nothing else, is a true display of how amazing the human spirit is. I had no idea who Adam, Alex or Thalita were last year but we’re like family and most importantly, through Para Standing Tennis, we’ve found our tribe.

How much of an impact will this documentary have on Para Standing Tennis?

The documentary is a big win for Para Standing Tennis. I watched it just last evening and I laughed, smiled, and even teared up a few times. The messenger(s) and the messages are spot on. Some may say you hit an “Ace”. (See what I did there?)

What do you think the audience will learn from watching this documentary?

  1. There’s a thing called Para-Standing Tennis.
  2. We have a range of very talented tennis players that are great at tennis, but also masters of adaptation and innovation.
  3. Life is as beautiful as you choose to make it.
